Remote Desktop App Features for Mac and iPhone

Poket PC puts remote desktop, quick controls, and an on-Mac assistant in one app for iPhone and Android. This page is the map, written around the iPhone app: each link below goes deeper on one part of version 1.0, with limits called out where they matter.

See and touch the Mac

  • Live screen — H.264 video of your Mac’s main display at 30 fps, on the same Wi-Fi and through the relay alike, with the long edge up to 1600 px. Tap, scroll, pinch-zoom, and long-press to right-click on what you see. Multi-monitor, audio, clipboard sync, and file transfer are planned, not shipped.
  • Trackpad — A large trackpad with adjustable pointer and scroll speed: move to point, tap to click, double-tap to double-click, two fingers to scroll, two-finger tap to right-click.
  • Keyboard — Type into the frontmost Mac app, plus Return and Delete. Modifier shortcuts, arrow keys, Escape, and function keys are not sent yet.

Act in one tap

  • Action tiles — Open apps, control media, volume and brightness, and run system actions such as lock, sleep, Mission Control, and Show Desktop. The default deck ships with Music, Safari, playback controls, volume, Mission Control, and Lock.

Work that keeps going on the Mac

  • Ask — An agent on your Mac that keeps working after you disconnect. Today it runs through Claude Code with your Claude subscription or a local model in Ollama. Support for adding your own API key is planned.
  • Schedules — Have Ask run a task every day, on weekdays, or every hour while the Mac is awake. Scheduled runs are quiet: they do not see the screen or use tool servers. On the Claude subscription, scheduled runs end without an answer in 1.0.
  • Voice — Dictate a task to Ask and have the result read aloud. An optional wake phrase, “Hey Mac”, starts dictation.

Trust and reach

  • Pairing — QR code plus a six-digit code bound into the Noise IK handshake; single-use window, instant revoke from the Mac.
  • Works anywhere — Same Wi-Fi uses a direct path; away from home the app uses the relay with end-to-end encryption. No port forwarding and no VPN.

Frequently asked questions

What can I do with Poket PC on my iPhone?

You can watch your Mac's main display, move the pointer, click and scroll, type text, tap action tiles for apps, media and system controls, give Ask tasks by typing or speaking, schedule Ask tasks, and connect on the same Wi-Fi or through the relay without port forwarding.

Do all features need an AI provider?

No. Screen, Trackpad, Keyboard, and the action deck work without Ask. Ask today uses your Claude subscription through Claude Code on the Mac or a local model in Ollama.

Is version 1.0 free?

Yes. Poket PC 1.0 is free with no ads and no in-app purchases. A Pro plan is planned for a later version.

Which Mac and phone do I need?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple silicon or Intel, with the menu-bar helper installed, and a phone: an Android phone with Android 9 or later and the app from Google Play, or an iPhone with iOS 18 or later and the app from the public TestFlight beta while the App Store release is in review.

Where do I start setting up?

Install the Mac helper from the download page, grant Accessibility and Screen Recording, pair your phone once with the QR code and six-digit check, then open any view in the app.
