Control Mac From Android: The Poket PC App

Poket PC for Android lets you control a Mac from your Android phone. You see the Mac’s screen live, work it with a trackpad or by touching what you see, type into it, or give the assistant on the Mac a task and let it keep going after you put the phone down. The app is free on Google Play, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no account.

What you need

A Windows version of the helper is in development and not available yet, so today the computer you control is a Mac. The app’s interface is in English in version 1.0.

Pair once

On the Mac, click the Poket PC icon in the menu bar and choose Pair New Device. In the app, tap Scan QR code and point the camera at the code. Check that the six-digit code on the phone matches the one on the Mac, then confirm. The code is part of the encrypted handshake, so a wrong one fails rather than pairing the wrong device.

From then on, tap your Mac in Hosts to connect. The app connects directly when both devices are on the same Wi-Fi and through the Poket PC relay when you are away, and it reconnects by itself if the link drops. No port forwarding, no VPN.

Remote, trackpad and direct touch

Remote shows your Mac’s main display live, and you can pinch to zoom in on small text. Two ways to point:

Keyboard, hardware keyboard and mouse

The keyboard types into whichever Mac app is in front. A modifier bar adds Shift, Ctrl, Option and Cmd: tap a modifier once for the next key, or twice to lock it. Esc, Tab and the arrow keys are there too, so shortcuts and menu navigation work from the phone. A hardware keyboard and mouse connected to the phone work as well.

Ask and the Agent tab

Ask takes a task in plain words and the assistant carries it out on your Mac. Before it starts, you choose how far it may reach: Screen, Quiet or Tools. You can follow each step as it happens and stop it whenever you like, and it keeps working if the phone disconnects.

The Agent tab shows what the assistant remembers and lets you teach it new facts, look back at past tasks and put one back in the composer, and schedule a task to run on the Mac by itself. In Settings you choose which model on your Mac runs future tasks.

The assistant runs on your Mac with the model you set up there: your Claude subscription through Claude Code, or a local model in Ollama. You pay that provider directly, or nothing for a local model; Poket PC does not resell model usage. Remote control and the keyboard work without any model. Scheduled runs never look at the screen, so they need a model that works without it, such as a local model; the Claude subscription cannot run them. More on this in Ask.
