Control Spotify on Mac From iPhone

Poket PC reaches Spotify on the Mac the way it reaches any app: there is no Spotify tile and no Spotify-specific mode. You get media tiles that work across players, Mac system volume, the live screen to browse and tap the Spotify window, and Ask for tasks on the Mac while music plays.

A Deck for Spotify
Keep the default Play/Pause, Previous, Next, Vol −, Vol +, and Mute tiles. The Music tile in the default deck opens Apple Music, not Spotify, and the 1.0 deck has no way to add a Spotify tile. If you never use Music, tap Edit and remove it; open Spotify itself from the live screen.
Which surface when
- Deck: quick media and volume without looking at the Mac’s screen.
- Screen: the desktop client’s full window, its settings, or anything the tiles do not cover. It streams at 30 fps.
- Ask: multi-step jobs on the Mac. It runs on your Claude subscription through Claude Code, or on a local model in Ollama; Poket PC does not resell model usage. With Claude, Anthropic receives the task and the screenshots Ask takes.
Limits
- No audio stream from the Mac to the phone in 1.0 (planned later).
- Media keys are the keyboard’s keys, not a private Spotify command; macOS decides which player receives them.
- No now-playing view: the Deck does not show the track; open Screen to see what is playing.
- Nothing to pay in 1.0: it is free, without ads or in-app purchases.

Can I control Spotify on my Mac from my iPhone?
Yes. Poket PC's media tiles send play/pause, previous and next as the Mac's media keys, the volume tiles set the Mac's output volume, and the live screen shows the Spotify window so you can tap it. Ask handles everything else on the Mac.
Do I still need the Spotify app on my phone?
Not for Poket PC. Its media tiles and live screen work without it.
Will media tiles control Spotify if another app has focus?
The tiles send the same media keys as a Mac keyboard, so the result is whatever pressing those keys at the Mac would do.
Can I search Spotify from Poket PC?
Yes. Open Spotify on the live screen and tap its search field, then type with the iPhone keyboard. Or describe what you want to Ask. There is no Spotify tile; the media tiles are the same for every player.
