Run Claude Code From iPhone via Poket PC Ask

Published 2026-09-26 · Updated 2026-10-05

You can run Claude Code from your iPhone with Poket PC in two ways. Ask, the assistant in Poket PC, can use the Claude Code installed on your Mac as its model, so the tasks you send from the phone run on your own Claude subscription. And the live screen and keyboard let you type into a Claude Code session in Terminal. Poket PC is not an Anthropic product, and there is nothing to sign in to on the iPhone.

How Ask uses Claude Code

  1. In the iPhone app, choose Claude subscription under Settings › Model. If the helper cannot find Claude Code, the option is greyed out with “Claude Code isn’t installed on this Mac”.
  2. Send a task from Ask. The helper on the Mac starts it and takes a screenshot.
  3. For each step, the helper runs Claude Code in headless mode (claude -p) with only its Read tool, so it can read that screenshot. Claude Code sends your task, a short history of the task and the screenshot to Anthropic under your account, and answers with one action: a click, a key press, some typing or a scroll.
  4. The helper performs that action, takes a new screenshot and asks again, until Claude Code reports the task done or says why it cannot go on.

In this mode Claude Code does not edit files or run commands itself. Each step starts it afresh, so expect a few seconds of overhead per step on top of the model’s own time.

Usage counts against your own Claude plan with Anthropic; Poket PC does not resell model usage. Entering your own API key in the helper is planned. Today the keyless paths are Claude Code or Ollama for local models.

Claude Code in Terminal, from the live screen

Ask does not hold a Claude Code conversation for you. To work in one, open Terminal through the live screen, tap into it, type claude and your request with the iPhone keyboard, and send it with Return. Read the answer on the live screen.

The iPhone keyboard sends typed text plus Return and Delete; it has no Tab key. Anything that needs Esc, the arrow keys or Control has to wait for the modifier bar, which is planned.

What to use on the phone

Surface Role with Claude Code
Ask Send a task and follow it; Claude Code picks each step
Screen See Terminal, browsers and confirmation dialogs, and tap to click
Keyboard Type commands, paths or text (text, Return, Delete)
Trackpad Move the pointer when the stream is too small to tap precisely

Security and reach

With Claude Code, Ask works only through the screen, one action per step. Each task’s reach is chosen when you send it, and the widest reach is never the default. Read Security for relay encryption, pairing and prompt-injection bounds.

Between the phone and the Mac, tasks use the same end-to-end encryption as screen control, so the relay cannot read them. The model is the exception: your task, its recent history and the screenshots go to Anthropic under your account and terms.

Frequently asked questions

Is Poket PC made by Anthropic?

No. Poket PC is made by Innoedge Technologies Ltd; Anthropic does not make or endorse it. Ask can use the Claude Code you installed and signed in to on your Mac.

Do I sign in to Claude on the iPhone?

No. Claude Code stays signed in on the Mac, and the phone sends tasks to Ask over your paired, encrypted connection.

What do I need on the Mac?

macOS 14 or later, the Poket PC helper with Accessibility and Screen Recording allowed, and Claude Code installed and signed in to your Claude account. Then choose Claude subscription under Settings › Model in the iPhone app.

What does Anthropic receive?

For each step of a task, Claude Code sends your task, a short history of the task and the current screenshot to Anthropic under your account. Poket PC does not receive it.

Can I use Ollama instead?

Yes. Ask can also use a local model in Ollama on the Mac, started with a vision model. Your prompts and screenshots then stay on the Mac.

Does Ask keep working if I close the app?

Yes. A task runs on the Mac and keeps going after the phone disconnects.
